Noni Skin Benefits

We’ve received a number of questions about how to best use the Noni Lavender Lotion for the skin, particularly for its anti-aging benefits. I realize our lotion is unique in many ways, especially in the texture, the color and how it goes on the skin. The purpose of this lotion is to reduce inflammation and provide antioxidants for the skin.

The texture: it’s nearly 100% noni pulp, hence the viscosity is more thick/chunky. We could make a lotion formula that was smooth for application but then it would have very little noni in the formula and very little benefit for your skin. Noni Lavender Lotion a “therapeutic” lotion with real benefits.

The color: it’s dark brown, after all it is our Noni Fruit Leather blended in water. I promise when applied in the right way you will not have "brown stuff" dried on your skin.

The feel: it’s a water-base lotion so it’s not “buttery or creamy” like a mainstream lotion, there is zero oil in the formula so it will not be greasy. When applied it will "wet" the skin and dries in a few minutes.

What are the compounds in noni that make it great for anti-aging? noni fruit">

While there are over 165 compounds that benefit the health of the body and skin in noni pulp, three specifically help fight enzymes that break down collagen in the body and aid the proper development of healthy, normal new skin tissue. These compounds are damnacanthal, anthraquinone and antioxidants. Learn more about these here

Will the Noni Lavender Lotion dry dark brown on my skin?

The lotion is darker brown in color, remember it’s the Noni Fruit Leather blended in water but really should not be visible on the skin once it dries. It really depends on the “thickness” that you apply and how much rubbing you do. Apply a less thick coat and there will be very little if any noni left on the skin. Apply a thicker coat and yes when it dries it will be brown. We recommend to apply a thin coat in the morning and a thicker coat at night. Don’t rub the lotion in at all…yes not at all. Simply apply on the skin in one direction and let dry. If you must rub back over do so just once or twice…or you will start to exfoliate your skin and generate those “brown balls”. More on this in the next question.

I can’t seem to get the lotion to rub into the skin, it leaves brown balls all over my face, arms, neck etc. Why?

You won't want to rub too much unless you want to exfoliate the skin. If you rub and rub to make the lotion go "into" or "dry" on the skin you will notice brown balls appearing as noni is a very good natural exfoliant. Many actually use this lotion as a cleanser on the face to remove makeup, dirt/oil, sunscreen etc. However, if you are looking for the anti-aging benefit you simply want apply gently and then let air dry.

What do you mean I can use Noni Lavender Lotion as a cleanser/exfoliant?

Yes, noni pulp is a very good natural and gentle exfoliant for the skin. The only time you will rub and rub and rub the lotion into the skin is to cleanse/exfoliate.

To use as a cleanser: Noni Lavender Lotion
1. You may lightly dampen with face with water, although not necessary.

2. Apply approximately a quarter sized amount of Noni Lavender Lotion to your fingertips.

3. Apply to your face, cheeks, chin, forehead and then continue rubbing in small circular motions from cheeks down to chin up to forehead and back to cheeks…repeat as long as needed

4. You will notice little “balls” begin to appear on top of your skin and you will literally feel the consistency of the lotion you are rubbing around change consistency and become thicker and ball up. The little “balls” are the cleansing effect of exfoliating dead skin as well as moving excess dirt, oil and makeup.

5. Once you are satisfied with the cleanse, rinse face with water and pat dry.

Can I apply other skin care products such as a moisturizer, face serum or body lotion too?

Yes. We just recommend applying the Noni Lavender Lotion first and letting it dry and absorb into the skin for a few minutes. The Noni is in a water base, if you apply any type of oil-based product first it will block the absorption of the noni. You will also want to apply a thin coat of Noni Lavender Lotion so there will be very little noni on the skin once it dries allowing you to easily apply additional skincare products.

On a side note, many have reported back that after adding the Noni Lavender Lotion to their skincare regime they’ve found that they no longer need to use moisturize or body lotion. The Noni Lavender Lotion is not “creamy or buttery” but noni will add moisture to the skin and softens the skin.

Can I apply the Noni Lavender Lotion around my eyes?

Yes absolutely! Around the eyes is one area many wish to improve with regards to aging. This lotion is also wonderful for reducing the appearance of "bags under the eyes" and "puffy eyes". Noni is an anti-inflammatory.

Tip: I love keeping a bottle of Noni Lavender Lotion in the refrigerator. Applying around the eyes is so cooling and refreshing, especially in the summer months.

How often do I need to apply for the skin benefits? Noni Lavender Lotion

We recommend applying morning and night. If you desire you may apply only at night but please note it may take longer for results to show.

How long before I will see results?

Most report seeing results within 2 to 4 weeks.
